Application: | Cap Rotation before placement. |
The purpose of this application is to rotate the sunscreen bottle lid if it comes in the wrong way before it is installed. The solution was provided by the Cognex Checker® Mechanical Vision Sensor. Checker is easy-to-use and affordable vision sensors that replace photocells for more reliable product inspection and detection. Checker® vision sensors achieve where traditional sensors fail and allow multiple inspections with just one device. The SensorView Teach Pedant color monitor was also installed, from which the operator can easily monitor control statistics, change product, create a new product, store images on an external USB stick, and even customize control if necessary.
The check is mainly for aesthetic reasons. The rotation in essence is made so that all the products fit the front of the lid with the front of the bottle / label.
Here is the Checker Mechanical Vision Sensor and the SensorView Teach Pedant screen below.
The following illustrations show the two sides of the lid as shown on the SensorView screen. The tool that perceives the lid's appearance is called contrast and searches for an area that is defined as contrasting with the background. So when he sees the front face with the "smile" the tool sees the contrast he is looking for in the shade. Instead, when the sensor sees the rear face with a cap on the lid, there is no shade and the tool does not look opposed. So if we define it, it rotates the lid.
On the left of the screen are the sensor parameterization tools. As can be seen in simple steps, the operator can store images, change the product or even if it needs to customize the control.
